Indigenous Owned and Operated since 2007

Mike Young has over 25 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Kiertin Consulting LTD was established in the year 2007. Micheal Young (Owner) has over 25 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. He and his wife, Cynthia Young (Co-Owner) have been married for 25 years.

Kiertin Consulting is a proud Indigenous Owned Business. Cynthia is an Aboriginal Program Co-Ordinator across the school division in Lloydminster. She develops programs for students to learn and take part in his Indigenous Heritage. She is also an 'N' Dialect Cree speaker who passes on her language in a cree class she developed for high school students. Cynthia has created numerous curriculum programs for students from Pre-K to Grade 12 and has also been known to help out in the local community college.

Mike soon jumped on board with his busy wife and helped out as much as he could. Later he was named a Junior Elder Cultural Advisor for the school division. He plays a big role in "Aboriginal Awareness Week". The learning activities he provided include but not limited to:

Moose Skinning
Teepee Teachings
Legends and Stories
Proper gathering and hunting protocols
Ceremony

Cynthia also involved herself in her husband's work. She provided services to children's parents who were a part of the oil patch in Lloydminster. She went the extra mile because she understood what the workload and schedules were like. If she needed to run errands to any sort of a well-site she was always aware of the procedures in place. She even had her very own pair of steel-toes and hardhat that she would keep with her handy in case of any visits.

When Mike and Cynthia retire they plan to leave their business to their two children they have raised together.
